On Tuesday, 23 August 2016, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 14.67), a Mercedes-Benz Actros Mpiii 1844 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober.
