On Monday, 29 August 2016, in the afternoon at 11:15, in Švenčionių district municipality, on Sodų street near No. 40, a Mazda 323 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.69‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
