On Saturday, 17 September 2016, in the afternoon at 16:50, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 123.12), a Volvo XC70 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volvo (14 years of driving experience), who was driving fatigued, fell asleep at the wheel and entered the oncoming traffic lane.
