On Saturday, 1 October 2016, in the evening at 19:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Triušiai–Kretinga regional road (kilometre 6), a BMW 530 D registered in Latvia hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW (19 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
