On Saturday, 15 October 2016, in the evening at 18:46, in Šiaulių district municipality, Bubių village, on Bokšto street near No. 9, a Volvo V40 rolled over. Two people were injured — the 41-year-old driver of the Volvo (hospitalized) and a 31-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Volvo, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.64‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 31-year-old passenger of the Volvo was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
