On Friday, 28 October 2016, in the evening at 20:12, in Plungės district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 39.60), an Audi 80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Audi (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.31‰ blood alcohol).
