On Friday, 11 November 2016, in the evening at around 22:00, in Vilnius, on Mėsinių street near No. 5, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia Combi and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Skoda (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
