On Sunday, 13 November 2016, in the morning at 10:50, in Neringos municipality, on the Smiltynė–Nida national road (kilometre 17.25), a Toyota Avensis hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Toyota (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed.
