On Wednesday, 16 November 2016, in the evening at 17:57, in Kretingos district municipality, on Savanorių street near No. 19, a KIA Motors Spectra hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 13-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). Two of the injured were children. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (32 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. Both drivers were sober.
