On Tuesday, 22 November 2016, in the evening at 18:20, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 304.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira, a Subaru Forester and a Ford Tourneo Connect. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.82‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
