On Saturday, 3 December 2016, in the evening at 18:08, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilijampolė–Žeimiai–Šėta national road (kilometre 12), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW 525 TDS. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 49-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway where prohibited and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
