On Saturday, 17 December 2016, in the evening at around 17:00, in Klaipėda, on Kauno street near No. 6, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Geely and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Geely, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
