On Sunday, 22 January 2017, at night at 3:30, in Anykščių district municipality, Rudakasių village, on the Sedeikiai–Mikieriai–Čiukai regional road (kilometre 14.40), a Subaru Outback hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 22-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by a 22-year-old pedestrian, who committed traffic rule violations that contributed to the accident and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). He was drunk (0.87‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
