On Sunday, 29 January 2017, in the afternoon at 12:55, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Mauručiai–Vinčai–Puskelniai national road (kilometre 26.60), an Opel Vectra rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Opel (32 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.44‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
