On Saturday, 11 February 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 16.50), a MTZ Belarus-552 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the MTZ (36 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
