On Saturday, 18 February 2017, in the evening at 19:15, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja main road (kilometre 10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo and a Chrysler Pacifica. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Ford (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
