On Saturday, 25 February 2017, in the evening at 18:52, in Jonavos district municipality, Jadvygavos village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 37.25), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant and a Mercedes-Benz. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Audi (12 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.85‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
