On Monday, 6 March 2017, in the morning at 8:41, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 30), a DAF FT XF95 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the DAF (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.30‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
