On Wednesday, 12 April 2017, in the evening at around 20:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Vikonys–Piktagalys–Naujonys regional road (kilometre 0.10), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz C 200 CDI and an Audi A6. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.47‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene.
