On Friday, 28 April 2017, in the evening at 19:45, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 1), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra Station Wagon, a Schmitz SKO 24 registered in Latvia and an Iveco AS440S45 registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Opel (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober.
