On Sunday, 28 May 2017, in the evening at 18:55, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Kiti keliai local road (kilometre 1), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 100 and a BMW 520. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi, who violated overtaking rules. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
