On Tuesday, 6 June 2017, in the evening at 20:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 90.13), an Audi Allroad hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Audi (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.83‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
