On Wednesday, 7 June 2017, at night at 1:02, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Kalnėnų street near No. 32, a Ford Mondeo hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.73‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
