On Tuesday, 11 July 2017, in the evening at 19:32, in Visagino municipality, on Energetikų street near No. 72, a Volvo V50 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Volvo (18 years of driving experience). He was drunk (2.41‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
