On Thursday, 10 August 2017, in the evening at 21:06, in Kelmės district municipality, Šedbarų village, on Sodų street, at the junction with Beržų street, an Audi A3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.75‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
