On Monday, 14 August 2017, at night at 4:50, in Anykščių district municipality, Mileikiškių village, on the Anykščiai–Troškūnai–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 23.20), a Nissan Terrano II ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Nissan (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.99‰ blood alcohol). A 49-year-old passenger of the Nissan was drunk (3.12‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
