On Saturday, 27 May 2017, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Ukmergės district municipality, Paobelio village, on Pagirių street, a Fiat Punto hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 14-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Fiat. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
