On Thursday, 14 September 2017, in the evening at 20:10, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžio aplinkkelis main road (kilometre 5.90), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic, a BMW 530, a Scania R420 and a Koegel SN24P100 registered in Belarus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Renault (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.36‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
