On Tuesday, 17 October 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Čekonys–Debeikiai–Žalioji regional road (kilometre 10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH12.420, a Claas Dominator 85 and a Schwarzmuller SPA 3/E. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Volvo (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
