On Monday, 20 November 2017, in the evening at 17:52, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Joniškis–Žeimelis–Pasvalys national road (kilometre 42.48), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volvo, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.86‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
