On Friday, 24 November 2017, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on A. Baranausko street, at the junction with Klevų street, a Ford Mondeo hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
