On Tuesday, 28 November 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 73.80), a Scania R 124 LB hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Scania (10 years of driving experience), who was driving a vehicle with faults the traffic rules prohibit driving with. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). The Scania had recorded faults (kito konstrukcijos elemento). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
