On Thursday, 30 November 2017, in the evening at around 18:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Krivilių village, on Liepų street near No. 3, a Peugeot 406 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.87‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
