On Friday, 1 December 2017, in the evening at 17:02, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 20.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a BMW. Two people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Audi (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
