Drunk, hit-and-run driver and Volkswagen crash at Laisvės and V. Kudirkos streets, Marijampolė
On Saturday, 9 December 2017, at night at 0:05, in Marijampolės municipality, on Laisvės street, at the junction with V. Kudirkos street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Signum and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.13‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
