On Wednesday, 13 December 2017, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Paupio village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 224.77), an Opel Astra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Opel (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
