On Sunday, 31 December 2017, in the morning at 5:46, in Telšių district municipality, Eigirdžių town, on Gedimino street near No. 23, an Audi A6 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.56‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
