On Thursday, 4 January 2018, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Visagino municipality, on Jaunystės street near No. 15, a Ford Transit hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 58-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 65-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Ford (34 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
