On Friday, 12 January 2018, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 93.45), a collision occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 3 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 49-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway outside a crossing where there are vehicle or pedestrian barriers. He was drunk (1.69‰ blood alcohol).
