On Wednesday, 27 December 2017, in the evening at 18:30, in Jurbarko district municipality, Kartupių village, on Žiedo street near No. 6, a BMW hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
