On Sunday, 4 February 2018, in the evening at 18:20, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 264), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 and a Toyota Avensis. One person was injured — a 30-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
