On Monday, 5 February 2018, in the evening at 20:30, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 67.05), an Opel Vectra-B-Caravan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
