On Sunday, 7 January 2018, at night at around 0:00, in Šilutės district municipality, Šyškrantės village, on the Rusnė–Uostadvaris–Švyturys regional road (kilometre 4), a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
