On Tuesday, 27 February 2018, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Alytus, on Putinų street, at the junction with Pramonės street, a Volkswagen Jetta hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 71-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (3.30‰ blood alcohol).
