On Tuesday, 6 March 2018, in the afternoon at 12:55, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 69.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra Station Wagon and a Volkswagen Caravelle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
