On Tuesday, 20 March 2018, at night at 1:45, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 28), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 330D and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
