On Sunday, 8 April 2018, in the evening at 19:21, in Plungės district municipality, Eivydų village, on Atžalyno street near No. 7, a Ford Fiesta ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 18-year-old driver of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 13-year-old passenger of the Ford (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Ford (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
