On Monday, 9 April 2018, in the morning at around 9:00, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl. near No. 26, a Suzuki Ignis hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Suzuki (23 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
