On Thursday, 3 May 2018, in the afternoon at 15:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 5.10), a collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 520I and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (7 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
