On Saturday, 5 May 2018, at night at 23:30, in Marijampolės municipality, on Kosmonautų street, at the junction with Eitkūnų street, an Audi A6 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He was drunk (1.91‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
